Simulating electromagnetic phenomena for wireless phones

Abstract

We consider a three-dimensional approach based on the Kirchhoff's method in order to predict electromagnetic waves propagation in urban environments. In particular, we are interested here in the evaluation of the electromagnetic field on very large three-dimensional domains (typically with linear dimensions of the order of hundreds of meters) generated by high frequency source (typically of the order of 1 GHz which corresponds to a wavelength of about 30 cm). Some numerical tests and comparisons with experimental measurements have been done to validate this approach.
